Strip Clubs And Microbreweries

 

  • More strip clubs per capita than any other city in America.
  • More microbreweries within the city limits than any other city in the world.
  • World’s largest bookstore.

Those were just a few of the many interesting facts I learned on my walking tour of Stumptown.

I almost didn’t go though.

With a steady stream of rain and a chill in the air I was hesitant.

Another wet and dreary day in Portland OR.

The cold and rain was enough to keep all the tourists away.

But that didn’t stop me. Maybe because I’m from Nova Scotia. A place that gets it’s fair share of rain.

I put on our rain gear and headed out.

Good thing.

I ended up getting my very own private tour of Portland. I got to ask lots of questions and learn some interesting facts about “The Weird City”

Fitness Lessons Learned From City Tour

When I was debating about going it got me to thinking about what it takes to miss a workout.

As I mentioned before, I’m form NS. It rains all the time there too. When I was younger I always wanted to be a track star. We don’t have many faclities so I’d find myself doing my workouts outside in the rain and snow.

There were days that I didn’t feel like going but I kept my eye on the bigger picture. What would happen if I didn’t workout. What I’d miss out on, and what will happen if I put in the work.

Just like the private tour. Good things come when you stick to the plan. Regardless of the situation.

There will be days when you’ll want to skip your workouts.

You won’t feel like staying on track with your diet and nutrition.
But it’s important to stick with it anyway…

Good things will happen.

Bad things happen if you don’t.

With each missed workout you let your goal slip further and further away. It becomes easier to skip workouts and let your nutrition slip.

Success Leads To More Success.

The best way to make this happen is to get on a good program. This takes all the guess work out of it. Sort of puts your transformation on autopilot.
